My wife and I are snowbirds, residing in Vernon for the summer months and going south for the winter. In July last year I was looking for a gym to start my weight training program for the summer.
After checking all the other gyms in Vernon, I arrived at DiMENsions. I walked in the door past the lady at the counter looked around the corner and saw what I thought was a 'Curves' gym for women. I headed for the door at a rapid pace only to be stopped by the lady at the counter who turned out to be Shelley, one of the owners. She asked if she could help me and I asked "Where is the gym for with the free weights and other equipment?" She laughed and told me I was in the right place and I had just seen the equipment used in their special program for men.
Seeing as that I was not impressed, she asked me to be open to at least hear about the program. I don't mind admitting how surprised and impressed I was with the concept. I had to give it a try.
The results have been astounding! This program has given faster and better results in a shorter time than any other weight training program I have used.
I am 67 years olds and have attended a gym fairly regularly since I was sixteen. Recently I was diagnosed as prediabetic. My blood glucose had been climbing for the past four years and had hit 6.4. A reading of 7.0 is a diabetic. My doctor told me that I had to be more lean and fit and to modify my diet and to increase my exercise program.
In July of this year my blood glucose had reflected a drop to 5.4 and my cholesterol also went down and the doctor was amazed and delighted. I have lost 28lbs since starting the program last July and reduced my BMI and fat mass significantly. Hooray for Dimensions, and the great support of the staff. I am now in the best physical condition I have been in for a great many years.
-Thank you Shelley and all the staff, for your support.
Sincerely, Dave Athans

I used to play professional football for the Hamilton Tiger Cats
and the Saskatchewan Rough Riders as a tight end and offensive tackle. I have been a member of Dimensions Fitness
Express now for approximately six months.
This style of hydraulic fitness workout has been around for
a long time. We used to use this type of
equipment when I played professional football.
I had many injuries and the equipment helps you get back to pro sports
in a fraction of the time. The beauty of
this style of workout is that it is fast, efficient and is a Total Body
Workout, not just working my arms one day, legs next, cardio another. I get all that I need in my 30 Minute Workouts,
3 times a week.
People generally shy away from this type of workout because they
don't understand that it is not a wimpy workout, or they want to see how much weight
they can lift, or see how strong they are.
"I believe this concept and style of working out/lifting is
the way of the future for men 35 and older for sure. It is safe, easy on the body, yet you can
still advance in your physical personal achievements, and gives you everything
you need."
The Dimensions hydraulic fitness workout is a safe way to
maintain your physical strength in season and out for whatever professional or
non-professional sport you play.
I play Masters Lacrosse and Hockey and find that this style
of workout has really improved my cardio in all my extra-curricular activities.

After retiring in
2002 I had a significant weight loss, but by the fall of 2005 I was rapidly
regaining it and I needed a way to reverse this trend.
The standard gym
atmosphere held no attraction to me and when I read an article about Dimensions
in the local paper it seemed like it might be the solution to my problem.
Ten months after
joining I'm about 20 pounds lighter and have more energy and stamina than I've
had in years. This has been accomplished
not with special diets, drinks or pills, but by using the well-designed
exercise program and by following staff advice on the proper use of the
equipment.
Given my results
to date, I recommend Dimensions to anyone as it offers an excellent program
with a first class, well-maintained facility along with a top-notch staff and
management.

I was the first one to join DiMENsions and I'm proud of
it! I was also the first member at the
gym to hit 100 visits. I don't think
that it's any coincidence that I've had the results that I've had.
I had joined Weight
Watchers 2 years prior to joining here and had lost about 20-25 pounds. Since
joining DiMENsions I have lost approximately 30 pounds. In January of this year I signed up for a 90
Day Pot of Gold Challenge that they were offering. On this Pot of Gold Challenge I lost
27.5 pounds, 19.25 inches, and 21.5 pounds of fat mass. My weight hasn't been below 200 since I was
in my late teens, early twenties. I'm
now 202.5 and I feel great!
I have had difficulty even going for walks in the past, I
can now go for walks with ease and I even enjoy it. I have had to buy new clothes in some cases
where my tailor said that I had lost so many inches that it would be less
expensive to buy new than to have them altered.
I had bought a couple of boxes of paper (~20 lbs each box) from
the store the other day and as I was carrying one box into the house, I found
it very heavy going up the steps. Then I
realized that I had lost about twice this amount of weight in the last few
years. It's no wonder I feel so amazing now
that I am not carrying that extra weight around!
My wife has been an inspiration to me. She had such positive results with her
exercise program at Curves, when DiMENsions opened I knew this was the place
for me. My family has been very
supportive and is very proud of me and I am too.
Thanks DiMENsions.

I
joined Dimensions Fitness Gym for men, in December, 2005, after years of very little
activity. Within 3 months I had lost 14
lbs, and I had more energy than I could remember. As a regular golfer, I find the 18 hole walk
takes minimal effort. Also, I am hitting
the golf ball an average of 10-15 yds longer than I used to. My shoulder problems have virtually
disappeared.
In
August of this year, I went hiking at Illicillawet Park,
East of Revelstoke. I climbed an
extremely steep mountain for 2 hours with no problems at all. My stamina is more than I thought it could be.
I was absolutely amazed that I didn't
have any soreness or ill effects at all.
In the past, I would have been sore and achy for days.
At
the age of 57 yrs, I feel healthier and stronger than I can remember. I attribute this to going to the gym 3-4
times a week, for a vigorous 30 minute workout.
I highly recommend it.
